Our Learning and Progress Updates
As throughout the school we have updated and revised our learning topics. We have changed our approach the learning all about the Romans. ‘What did the Romans do for us?’ focuses on the impact of the Romans on the British way of life then and now.
Our new geography topic, ’Why do some earthquakes cause more damage?’ look at the recent earthquakes in New Zealand. It encompasses map work skills, looking at the causes of earthquakes and the human and environmental impact including s trip to the science museum.
Spring term, Year 4 have already begun the unit ’Beyond the Magic Kingdom.’ This new unit is a study of Florida and the United State of America. The children have been enjoying using the atlases to locate different countries and will be developing further Geography skills.
After half term we have our residential to High Ashurst. We will also be studying the Vikings and Saxons.
